Network Ltd has recently employed a new software developer.  David Gould a Computer Science graduate from the University of Cambridge.  David's task is to develop a downloadable Internet Explorer toolbar for delivering the Network Menus software.

After several months development we have now built the second prototype of our software.  Work has been completed in conjunction with Bit10 Ltd based at the University of Warwick Science park to complete a web-based implementation of the system.

The software has proven several underlying concepts with regard to the way the system works.  Though a web-based implementation of the system is possible there are several constraining factors.  The web-based tool will provide a simple introduction to the system which will be accessible from anywhere in the world not requiring the user to download and install any software.

We will now move on to develop a downloadable version of the application the is capable of more advance functionality and highly usable.

Network Ltd has won a "Smart Technology" grant from the The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).  The grant is for establishing the technical and commercial feasibility of the software and business idea.  Following on from the prize received from the Co-operative Bank, Network Ltd has now been given the funding required to establish first prototypes of the software.

The grant will be awarded over 18 months to cover technical research and development into the idea.  During this period the business will be able to prove technical concepts and establish commercial interest in the concept with a view to establishing potential customers to buy the software following the award.

The grant provides the perfect platform to develop the technology to a level almost ready for deployment in business situations.
